Why will HGTV not give an answer to any of these people. I can’t get HGTV or PBS. I know PBS has started charging for some shows. HGTV won’t even give me a code to put in, just says ERROR 60.002. You are not authorized to view this video. Please check your subscription or parental guide settings. What does that mean? If you are going to start charging at least say so.

Now I feel the joys of ROKU are highly overrated. With no access to some of my favorite channels, I might as well have just local TV.

    • Christine Fetter says:

Yeah, suddenly I can’t watch HGTV and I’ve received no satisfactory answer. I’m NOT going to subscribe to cable tv again, but ROKU, you’ve let us down.

I purchased SlingTV ($25) to use with my Roku. Sling TV has a $20 package and you can add on HGTV ( Lifestyle add-on) for $5. It costs $25 but it is still cheaper than my cable bill.

I have Spectrum and used to get hgtv and food network free on my Roku, now I can’t. Very disappointed in Spectrum but I will not go back to paying 170 a month for cable.

ROKU for me was an alternative to TV Cable. They put together many channels that I do not care for at all so subscribing to Cable TV just to see HGTV or DIY is not fair at all. Do we have to be pushed and handled as the TV industry want. What about your clients do we have any voice on what we really need?

  5. I’m hoping the people developing this app along with the ones for DIY, and TLC, etc will read this. We find the new channel layout on the roku to be confusing, distracting, and harder to use. It starts playing live tv as soon as we load the channel which is distracting and not what we want. The program selection is now indicated by a slight change in thumbnail size that we can’t see very well instead of a border like it used to have so have a hard time telling which program is selected. Also, the episode info no longer shows the original air date so we can’t tell if the latest episode has been posted, which is very frustrating. We much preferred the old layout.

Cannot understand why I cannot get ROKU. Have made several unsuccessful attempts. Disappointed.

  7. Darla says:

won’t let me watch hgtv. tells me I have to link up..did that years ago. just tried again a doz times and it tells me its already installed. TOTALLY AT A LOSS NOW!

  8. chris says:

i’m with Xfinity and I can’t get hgtv pretty disappointed.

  9. John Davis says:

We do not have cable and rely upon Roku, so we still cannot get HGTV. Sad

  10. Sue says:

I agree, I have Xfinity which is not an offered company. Disappointed in HGTV and Roku.

  11. Anni Good says:

WHY does HGTV require my cable subscription? You don’t even offer my cable company as an option. Do your advertisers know that you actively limit their audience exposure? Just saying.

I’m with you, I cannot add HGTV to my Roku. I pay my cable bill to Spectrum but the log in says “its not available to your zip code?
